Trust and disclosure

Independence claimed in a sentence is worth very little. This page separates the two questions that usually get blurred together — who controls what is published, and who pays for anything at all — and answers them one at a time.

Editorial independence

Decisions about what traderpublic publishes, revises or withdraws are made inside the newsroom and nowhere else. No outside party sees a page before it is published, and no outside party can require one to be changed or taken down.

No brokerage, exchange or trading platform has any say over a headline, a comparison, a research standard or the order of anything on this site. Where a firm disputes something we have published, it is answered through the corrections process like any other reader, with the same requirement to produce a source.

Coverage is not withheld because a subject would be unwelcome, and it is not created because a subject would be popular. When a question cannot be answered from primary sources, the honest outcome is to say so and publish nothing — this site currently publishes no broker ranking for exactly that reason.

Commercial relationships

There are none to declare. traderpublic carries no advertising, runs no affiliate links, takes no placement fees, and has no revenue-sharing, referral or partnership arrangement with any broker, exchange, issuer or data vendor.

That is easy to promise today precisely because there is nothing here to buy, and stating it plainly now is what makes a future change visible. If a commercial relationship is ever entered into, it will appear on this page — named, dated, and described in terms of what it could touch — before any material affected by it is published.

A promotional panel with no advertiser behind it is an unsold placeholder and is labelled as one. It is not evidence of a relationship, and it never earns a firm a mention in editorial content.

  • Paid placement in a list, comparison or rail: none, and structurally excluded from the ranking method.
  • Affiliate or referral links in editorial pages: none.
  • Payment, credit or hospitality accepted from a covered firm: none.
  • Ownership: an independent project, not owned or operated on behalf of any brokerage, exchange or trading platform.

What on this site was written rather than reported

traderpublic began as an interface study and some of that material is still visible. Demonstration broker profiles, the scores and licence details inside them, the comments attributed to traders beneath them, and the illustrative masthead were all written to fill a layout.

Every one of them carries a notice on the same screen, none feeds a ranking or a recommendation, and those pages ask search engines not to index them. They are kept as illustrations of a standard, and they should never be used to judge a real firm.

Reported content is a different category and is marked as such: it arrives from the editorial system, is attributed to the newsroom, and is subject to the sourcing rules in the editorial policy.

Investment-risk limitation

traderpublic is not a broker, a dealer, an investment adviser or a fund manager, and it is not licensed by any financial regulator. Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation.

Everything published here is general information and education, written without any knowledge of your income, your obligations, your tax position, your experience or your tolerance for loss. Whether an instrument, a strategy or a firm mentioned here is suitable for you is a question this site is structurally incapable of answering.

Trading leveraged products loses money for most retail clients who attempt it. Costs run whether a position works or not, and a licence check that was accurate on the day it was made can be out of date by the time you read it. Verify a firm's legal entity and licence in the regulator's own register before funding an account, and seek advice from someone licensed where you live before acting on anything here.

Holding us to this

If any statement on this page stops being true, that is a correction like any other and we want to be told. The editorial address reaches the people responsible for the site rather than a ticket queue, and a message about disclosure is treated with the same seriousness as a factual error.

The full contact routes, including the separate address for data-protection questions, are on the contact page. The rules this page is measured against are set out in the editorial policy.

No guarantee attaches to any of this

Independence improves the odds that a page is honest. It does not make a page correct, current or suitable for your situation, and no disclosure on this site should be read as a promise about an outcome in a market.
