Overview
The SEC's Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, known as DERA, published updated market statistics and data visualizations as part of press release 2026-61, dated July 1, 2026.

The division's charter puts financial economics and rigorous data analytics at the centre of what the agency does. Its economic and statistical work is meant to feed straight into Commission rulemaking and oversight.
Highlights
- First-quarter listings numbered 99 this year, against 84 in the same quarter of 2025.
- Money raised through those listings was up 86% on the year.

IPO and Follow-on Offering Activity
The number of IPOs rose to 99 in the first quarter of 2026 from 84 in the first quarter of 2025. According to a single report, IPO proceeds raised increased 86% year over year.
Follow-on registered offerings also increased, with 264 recorded in the first quarter of 2026 compared with 250 in the first quarter of 2025.
ABS and CMBS Data Enhancements
The DERA update includes three new ABS issuance data visualizations. It also adds additional historical statistics for issuances of ABS and CMBS.

The statistics are presented on the SEC's website using time series charts, pie charts and heat maps. The webpage offers interactive and downloadable visuals for users reviewing the data.
