Entrée Resources said on Oct. 6 that the transfer of its Shivee Tolgoi and Javkhlant mining licenses to joint venture partner Oyu Tolgoi LLC is still waiting on tax paperwork in Mongolia. The company said it had already calculated the values of the licenses, remitted the transfer tax and asked the Mongolian tax authority to review and confirm those calculations.
For traders and newer investors following the name, the practical point is that Entrée said the licenses must be transferred to OT LLC before Lift 1 underground development and extraction activities on the Shivee Tolgoi mining license can proceed. The company said discussions with the Government Working Group and Oyu Tolgoi project stakeholders over state participation in the license area are ongoing.
Entrée said the tax authority has not yet confirmed the valuation calculations. It also said the authority told Entrée LLC that the materials submitted were incomplete, so the tax office said it could not issue tax payment certificates.
The company’s update follows questions raised by a Mongolian member of parliament in a plenary session on Oct. 2, 2026, after a Sept. 28 shareholder letter from president and chief executive Chris Adams on the transfer process. Entrée describes itself as a Canadian mining company with a carried joint venture interest in part of the Oyu Tolgoi project in Mongolia.
