Apollo said on Sept. 29, 2026 that Apollo managed funds completed the acquisition of Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. and launched a new management structure. The company described Nippon Sheet Glass as a leading global company in architectural, automotive and solar glass.
Apollo said the transaction by Apollo Funds and key financial institutions will support the strengthening of the company’s financial foundation and accelerate investment in its people and technology. It also said the company will draw on Apollo’s prior investment experience in glass, automotive and manufacturing sectors.
Munehiro Hosonuma, Representative Director, President and CEO, said the closing marks the beginning of “an exciting new chapter for NSG Group,” and said the company is grateful to shareholders, financial institutions, business partners and employees. He said the company’s expertise, trust, brand and core values, cultivated over a century of tradition, remain unchanged.
Tetsuji Okamoto, Lead Partner, Asia Pacific Private Equity at Apollo, said the combination of Apollo’s experience and the talent and craftsmanship of NSG Group’s people positions the company to build a strong platform for growth and innovation. Apollo said that as of June 30, 2026, it had approximately $1.05 trillion of assets under management.
