Exodus Movement has launched Exodus Checkout, a merchant payments product that lets businesses accept dollar stablecoins, and is introducing it through a partnership with DGO, DIRECTV’s streaming platform in Latin America. Eligible customers can now pay for subscriptions with digital dollars.
The first rollout is in Argentina, with plans to extend the integration across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Ecuador. Exodus said the service supports both one-time and recurring stablecoin payments.
For someone who uses DGO, the change is in the payment method rather than the subscription itself: at checkout, eligible customers can select stablecoins and initiate the transaction from their wallet. Exodus said the feature is meant to make it simple for customers to send dollar stablecoins directly from their wallet.
JP Richardson, chief executive and co-founder of Exodus, said: “Exodus Checkout extends that to everyday commerce by embedding stablecoin payments into experiences people already enjoy.”
Federico Suarez, director of OTT Platform Marketing at Waiken ILW, said: “Adding stablecoin payments gives customers another way to subscribe to the entertainment they love without changing the experience they already know.”
Exodus, founded in 2015 and based in Omaha, also said it serves millions of users through products built around self-custodial finance and enterprise payment services.
