HII को अमेरिकी नौसेना से 10 ROMULUS USVs का ठेका मिला

HII को 29 सितंबर 2026 को अमेरिकी नौसेना से 10 ROMULUS unmanned surface vessels बनाने का ठेका मिला, और यह काम Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) program के तहत होगा।

कंपनी ने कहा कि यह पुरस्कार नौसेना के प्रयोगात्मक चरण से fleet-scale deployment की ओर बढ़ने में एक बड़ा कदम है।

HII के president and CEO Chris Kastner ने कहा, “HII has made deliberate, early investments in the development of autonomous systems, advancing capabilities essential to the Navy’s hedge strategy,” और कंपनी “supporting the U.S. Navy’s vision” तथा इस capability को “production to operational deployment” तक ले जाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।

ROMULUS के केंद्र में HII का Odyssey Autonomous Control Solutions (ACS) है, जिसे कंपनी ने combat-tested autonomy suite बताया। HII ने 750 से अधिक REMUS unmanned underwater vehicles 30 से अधिक देशों के ग्राहकों को दिए हैं, और कंपनी के अनुसार ROMULUS, REMUS और Odyssey ACS मिलकर autonomous maritime operations के लिए एक scalable foundation बनाते हैं।

HII के Mission Technologies division के president Andy Green ने कहा, “Unmanned vessels ultimately must be built, integrated, tested and sustained as part of a fleet,” और कंपनी regional partners और suppliers के साथ एक production ecosystem बना रही है।

HII ने 2025 में ROMULUS USVs के design और development से construction तक तेजी से जाने के लिए partners, production capacity, supplier network और infrastructure सुरक्षित करने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई थी। कंपनी ने हाल ही में अपनी existing 40,000-square-foot unmanned manufacturing production campus capacity में 10,000-square-foot expansion की भी घोषणा की।

कंपनी ने कहा कि Odyssey ACS का modular, open-architecture स्वरूप U.S. Navy और allied partners को नए sensors, command-and-control technologies और AI algorithms जल्दी integrate करने देता है। HII, Applied Intuition, Greenroom Robotics और Rodi Marine के साथ, MUSV program के evaluation phase को पूरा कर चुकी है, और U.S. Navy-monitored testing Gulf of America में 13 दिन चला।

सबसे कठिन test में long-endurance mission simulation था, जिसमें HII की autonomy system ने 420-nautical-mile mission 28 hours में पूरा किया। HII के अनुसार उसने established success criteria पूरे किए और sustained maritime operations के लिए जरूरी endurance और autonomous performance दिखाई।
