बजट से पहले लागत-राहत के पाँच उपाय
HM Treasury ने कहा कि Wednesday’s Budget से पहले Chancellor John Healey ने पांच practical fixes unveiled किए हैं, जो food, fuel और family life से जुड़ी रोज़मर्रा की लागतों को कम करने के लिए हैं। विभाग के अनुसार, यह package millions of families, working people and unpaid carers across the country को support करेगा।
सरकार के मुताबिक measures में higher tax-free mileage rates को permanent बनाना शामिल है। इसके तहत first 10,000 business miles के लिए 55p per mile rate lock in किया जाएगा, और 10,000 miles से ऊपर rate 25p से बढ़कर 35p per mile होगा। सरकार ने कहा कि इससे around three million employees and self-employed people who use their own vehicle for work को support मिलेगा।
एक और measure parental pay का विस्तार है। सरकार ने कहा कि इससे more than 150,000 additional parents per year को लाभ मिलेगा, जिनमें self-employed dads and partners भी शामिल हैं, जो पहले इससे वंचित थे। Eligible parents को two weeks of support मिलेगी, जिसकी value currently up to £194 a week बताई गई है।
सरकार ने यह भी कहा कि वह Carer’s Allowance cliff edge को खत्म करना चाहती है। मौजूदा व्यवस्था के तहत unpaid carers, earnings limit से सिर्फ़ एक penny ऊपर जाने पर अपना पूरा allowance खो सकते हैं। प्रस्ताव के अनुसार, अब हर अतिरिक्त £1 earned पर केवल £1 of support taper away होगा।
यह पैकेज import tariffs हटाने पर भी केंद्रित है। सरकार ने more than 100 products पर tariffs हटाने की बात कही, जिनमें baked beans, chocolate and gherkins जैसी family favourites शामिल हैं। साथ ही farmers facing higher fertiliser bills और households that rely on kerosene heating oil को भी इससे मदद मिलने की बात कही गई। सरकार ने कहा कि existing suspensions के साथ मिलकर households up to £21 on their food shop each year बचा सकते हैं।
Post Office के लिए सरकार ने hundreds more Drop Boxes roll out करने की बात कही, जिससे total 1,000 हो जाएगी। इसके साथ 600 Post Office branches को end of the financial year तक upgrades मिलेंगे। सरकार का कहना है कि इससे parcels भेजना और लौटाना counter queue किए बिना आसान होगा, खासकर Christmas के run-up में।
Department ने यह भी कहा कि आज नया Warm Homes loans scheme launch होगा। इसके तहत homeowners across the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, को solar panels, batteries and heat pumps जैसी clean energy technology लगाने के लिए low-interest and interest-free finance मिलेगी।
